They can!

Last week I gave a team a bag of craft supplies, some glue and 20 minutes to build their future.

No PowerPoint.

Very little framing or context.

No flip charts.

No Post-it notes.

No strategy templates.

Just wooden blocks and sticks, pipe cleaners, cardboard, glue and permission to be creative.

The result wasn't just a sticky mess- it was a shared three-dimensional model of how they wanted to work together. It included culture, ways of working, priorities, relationships, psychological safety, wellbeing, resilience and aspirations.

Without any prompting from me, they included every element of Clutterbuck's PERILL High Performing Team model. No, they didn't know the framework - this was the first activity in their first team coaching session. But they instinctively knew what mattered.

🏠 Less talking and more building I say!

After all, if that's the future the team needs, the next step is designing and delivering actions to get there. In other words... building it!

Building the future starts with... building the future!

If you'd like to try something creative to unlock your teams thinking about the future they need, or you'd like a general chat about team coaching, please get in touch.
