is one of the most powerful learning habits we can create. I love an HBR article I read recently about the power of journaling and how important it is the more senior we are in an organisation. https://lnkd.in/gkMjTJiQ.

But I appreciate that journalling isn’t for everyone. There are different ways to reflect on your own or as a team, for example: peer groups, questionnaires, facilitated reviews.

The critical thing is to set aside time to process what has happened. And, even more importantly, provide space to rehearse responses to future challenges.

But it’s hard to prioritise when we are flat out running from meeting to meeting right? If you or your team would like support to find a way to reflect that works for you, please get in touch.

Yay! But what does it mean?

- I already hold senior credentials on one-to-one coaching

- I’ve completed 60+ hours of team coaching specific education

- I’ve completed 5+ significant team coaching engagements

- I undertake regular team coaching supervision

- I passed a gnarly exam

i.e. I have done the work and met professional standards.

It feels like everyone is describing themselves a coach or team coach these days. If you are a buyer of coaching, ask about accreditations and certifications before you engage services. You wouldn’t choose a dentist because they just added the word “dentist” to their profile would you?

A shout out to all the ICF and EMCC certified coaches out there!

Team Coaching is super relevant in our VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. Hybrid working is more common than not and teams need to from rapidly to match the demands of their environment. Team coaching also builds team and individual resilience, helping teams prepare for and navigate change.

So proud to be part of a successful ICF event last week along with fellow team coaches Helene Deschamps PCC, Alyson Keller (PCC, ICF), Bruce Herbert, Nic Preddle, hosted by the NZ branch Mariska Du Preez and Kate Birch. In the experiential event hybrid participants were emersed in a scenario requiring them to rapidly create the conditions for team success. Well done everyone involved! (And thank you Prof. David Clutterbuck for the use of your emerging work on rapid teaming).

If you would like to know more please contact me or any of the team coaches above.
