š Same place. Different angle!

Look at these pics from a recent trip to Melbourne. Perspectives change everything, right?
We talk a lot about alignment in teams - āgetting everyone on the same pageā, āheading in the same directionā and āworking towards shared goalsā.
And leaders can be tempted to hire people like themselves. It makes things easier, keeps things running smoothly and helps build consensus. Sound familiar?
But at what cost?
Some of our most valuable insights come from people who see things differently. They challenge assumptions, reveal whatās been missed and open up new possibilities.
And thereās another layer. Itās one thing to look at something from a different perspective. Itās quite another to develop capacity to make sense of multiple perspectives at the same time - especially when they challenge our own.
Vertical Development (or Adult Development) is all about this. It's about understanding and expanding how we make sense of the world so we can work with differences, hold multiple perspectives and navigate complexity.
Itās not about eliminating differences. Itās about embracing them.
Alignment doesnāt mean seeing things the same way. In fact, it can mean quite the opposite š!
If you'd like to know more about perspectives in teams, let in touch. I'd love to hear from you. And if you'd like to hear more about my trip to Melbourne, happy to talk about that too. š
